2020 looks extremely exciting for us as Obsessions Octet is getting ready for another European Tour. We are thrilled to have support from both the Federal and Provincial Government through grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. The Octet is very grateful for this support and also to those of you who come out to our concerts and enjoy our music. A large part of performing is the energy and interaction we have with our audience. Your feedback and support is invaluable to the success of Obsessions. As for our upcoming tour, we will keep you updated once we have all the details in place.

To start your year off musically, we’d like to invite you to join the Obsessions String Quartet at a concert for the St. Albert Chamber Music Society, on January 18th, 2020

6th of October 2019 in the Polish Hall , Edmonton

REVERENCE is a follow up to Obsession Octet's previous albums Obsession, Melodia and Steppin’ Up. This new CD is a reflection of the many stories of life and music making, both on the road and in recording sessions.
Our group consists of eight well-respected Edmonton musicians including: Kent Sangster (Saxophones), Joanna Ciapka-Sangster (Violin), Yue Deng (Violin), Leanne Maitland (Viola), Ronda Metszies (Cello), John Taylor (Bass), Chris Andrew (Piano), and Jamie Cooper (Drums).
Roger Levesque from the Edmonton Journal has said, “REVERENCE expertly takes in a wide breadth of material that’s alternately sublime, suspenseful, pleasingly intricate, elegantly spare, and even danceable over eight tracks.”

Attached please find a poster advertising this performance. We would appreciate your support in passing it along to family and friends, as well as posting it in your community or workplace.

Thanks !

Dear Friends,

We are excited to let you know about Obsessions Octet “Oh Canada! The group’s performance will be held on June 25th at the Rochester Club, and will be recorded by PBS for future broadcast.
